In the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake 2 members of Mount Abu International Ham Radio Club VU3VGP OM Arun Kumar, VU3JAA OM Jai Prakash joined with the volunteers of Brahma Kumaris and Global Hospital Research Centre, Mt. Abu for Nepal Earthquake relief operations. They travelled by train up to Raxaul nearest Railway station of India near to Nepal border to receive Relief materials sent by various centres of Brahma Kumaris by road and by train.
With the help of the Indian Embassy at Birgunj, the materials were cleared by the Customs Department of Nepal and were loaded in trucks to transport to the capital city Katmandu. It took 8 hours to reach Katmandu in frequent traffic jams and road blockage. OM Arun worked to give in advantages of Ham radio in emergency communications. The MHRC hams also worked tirelessly to manage distributions of Tarpaulins, Blankets, and Food at Sindhupal Chowk. The rest of the news is in the pictures . . . .
